Journey On

About the Founder

Shelia M. Jackson is the Executive Director at Food For Greater Elgin, former Director of Supportive Care at Comfort Hospice and Palliative Care, Bereavement Manager at Odyssey and Heartland Hospice, and is the founder of Journey On.

Growing up in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, Jackson attended St. Martin Grammar School and Academy of Our Lady High School. She then continued into higher education and received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and her Masters of Business Administration from Aurora University.

After the loss of her grandmother, Jackson sought to assist others in similar situations and founded Journey On as a way to both reflect on her own grief, and to provide comfort for others experiencing grief and loss as well.
